Leanne graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and has been and Occupational Therapist for over 25 years. She has predominantly worked with children in both government and non-government settings as a Senior Therapist. She has extensive experience working with children and families in acute hospitals, school settings and in private practice.
Leanne has provided services to children with developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing difficulties, genetic conditions, intellectual Impairment, coordination difficulties as well as difficulties with social skills, handwriting and self-care skills (including toileting).
She has a particular interest in working with children with ASD (especially the 3-12 year age group). She also has an interest in assisting children with prep readiness skills and early literacy difficulties.
Leanne aims to help each child "to be the best they can be". She works from a strength based, family partnership model making therapy fun and goal focused while encouraging, educating, and empowering families to understand their child's difficulties and have the strategies to make positive changes beyond therapy sessions/
As a mother of two children, she understands the balancing of family life while supporting each child to reach their potential.
Leanne regularly attends continuing professional development to ensure she continues to use up to date, evidence-based therapy.
